Some players are showing up as “Player”

Fixed in the latest updateOrganizer rename: in the works

A few organizers noticed a seat in their circle labeled just “Player” instead of a name. Thank you for flagging it!

Why it happens

When someone signs in with Apple, Apple only shares their name the very first time, and people can choose to hide it. If the app doesn’t get a name at that moment, it has nothing to show, so it falls back to “Player.” That was our bug, not yours.

What we’ve done

We fixed it in the app. After you update, Kongvene asks for your name the next time you open it, so you’ll show up with your real name.

Still seeing “Player”? Change your own name

  1. Update Kongvene to the latest version.
  2. Tap You at the bottom, then tap Change my name.
  3. Type your name and tap Save.

Your new name shows up in your circles right away.

What’s next

We’re adding a way for organizers to rename a player inside their own circle, so you won’t have to wait on someone else to fix it. It will only change how the name appears in your circle, not the person’s account. We’ll announce it here when it’s ready.

Tile & ErrorOctober 18, 2026

Why your play days are tiles now

Tile & Error is where I tell you what you told me: what wasn’t working, what I got wrong, and what changed because of it.

You said

One of our members told me she didn’t love scrolling forever just to see all of her play dates.

We heard

She was right. A long list is fine when you have two play days. It’s a lot less fine when you’re in several circles and just want to know when you’re playing next.

We built

Play days now show up as tiles, so you can see what’s coming up at a glance instead of hunting for it.

Organizers can now share one link in the group text. Friends tap it, add a first name, and they’re in. They show up at the table with a “via link” label so you know how they joined.
